Mission

The young women and men of the Corps work hard protecting and restoring California's environment and responding to disasters, becoming stronger workers, citizens and individuals through their service.

 CCC MOTTO:

"Hard work, low pay, miserable conditions... and more!"

John Muir Charter School at the Chico CCC offers corpsmembers an educational program that makes a positive impact in the lives of our students, as well as the community.

Renowned in the North State

The partnership between JMCS and the CCC creates vast opportunities for young people to succeed. Successful students gain practical job skills as well as specialized training, while also participating in a student-centered academic program aimed at broader goals than simply a high school diploma. "Education for Life" is our motto!

The California Conservation Corps is a comprehensive job readiness program. Corpsmembers are provided opportunities to train in a number of real-world applicable certifications, including CPR and First Aid, emergency preparedness for flood or other natural disasters, industrial or oil spill accidents, fire fighting, and much more! The program offers numerous internships both local and statewide. Students also receive Career Development Training and Conservation Awareness Training, all while earning scholarships towards college or further training.
