John Muir Charter School at the Greenwood CCC offers corpsmembers an educational program that makes a positive impact in the lives of our students, as well as the community.
The Greenwood CCC center is a residential program that provides housing
and meals to all corps members. The staff at the Greenwood center work
together and with the students to help them be successful in school and
in life. The teachers are highly qualified to meet each student's
individual needs. All students must complete career development before
they graduate. We also encourage students to get their drivers license
so they can easily find employment in the future.
Students feel welcomed at our school. They know that the teachers care about them and that teachers will encourage and support them in meeting their goals. Each student works with their own individualized graduation plan to ensure their progress towards earning their high school diploma. Scholarships up to $6,000 are available upon completion of the program.

The Greenwood CCC center trains corps members to work on trail
maintenance, rock work, tree felling and kitchen skills, in addition to
develop leadership abilities. Students earn elective credits in high
school while they are working.
Students graduating from the program often find jobs with the state and federal parks system and CalTrans. Students may pursue a tree felling certification which allows them to work for tree felling companies such as Davys. Students are also trained to work with hazardous materials and deal with floods and other natural disasters.
