Mission

The young women and men of the Corps work hard protecting and restoring California's environment and responding to disasters, becoming stronger workers, citizens and individuals through their service.

 CCC MOTTO:

"Hard work, low pay, miserable conditions... and more!"

John Muir Charter School at the Inland CCC offers corpsmembers an educational program that makes a positive impact in the lives of our students, as well as the community.
Students here become entrenched in the John Muir community with a sense of belonging and pride. Each student is individually assessed and provided with their own curriculum that meets their academic needs. Students are provided with individual instruction to increase their math and reading skills, while also working on credit recovery. Students are provided with life skills and personal improvement curriculum that assists them throughout their completion of the program and supports them in meeting their post-program goals. Goal setting is a vital part of our program. Many students return to the classroom after graduation for continued support and guidance. Once a student of John Muir Inland , you are always a student and always welcome!

The CCC Inland Empire offers many types of training to help corps members become successful within the CCC and its core training program. These trainings include high school and GED programs, personal growth, life skills, work maturity knowledge, technical skills, career guidance, job search, conservation awareness, leadership, and higher education. Meaningful work assignments and staff instruction help corpsmembers understand the “why” behind the work they do. This is carried into the classroom through volunteer events and site visits. We also support continued education on the work site or on spikes. The CCC, with the support of John Muir Charter School, offers trainings in proper tool use, commercial drivers licenses, defensive driving, health and safety, Hazwoper and other various skills. These trainings provide skills which are transferable to other state agencies and the civilian workforce.
