The
mission of YouthBuild USA is to unleash the intelligence and positive
energy of low income youth to rebuild their communities and their lives. YouthBuild
USA seeks to join with others to help build a movement toward a more just society
in which respect, love, responsibility, and cooperation are the dominant unifying
values, and sufficient opportunities are available for all people in all communities
to fulfill their own potential and contribute to the well-being of others. |

Youthbuild
Greenfield began its first class in 2004 in an effort to help Salinas
Valley 16-24 year old, unemployed, and unskilled young people. The program offers
participants a second chance to obtain the educational, occupational, social,
and leadership skills they need to become economically self-sufficient and able
to assume full responsibility for themselves and their families. As a community-based
organization, Youthbuild Greenfield is committed to helping a population too
often described by the negative statistics of poverty, crime, and violence.
Youthbuild Greenfield offers participants the opportunity to transform both
their lives and their community. This multidisciplinary program addresses the
academic, job training, and personal/social needs and interests of the participants.
Trainees can acquire the academic credentials as well as the construction training
skills necessary for them to become self-sufficient and contributing members
of society. |
